To begin, a small access opening is created in the tooth, allowing the dentist access to the infected or damaged pulp.
The infected or damaged pulp is carefully removed from the tooth’s interior, and the space is thoroughly cleaned and shaped. This step eliminates the source of infection and prepares the tooth for the next crucial phase.
Once cleaned, the now empty space is filled with a biocompatible material, typically gutta-percha, to seal the canal and prevent the re-entry of bacteria.
